Support the campaign against the Eco Dump on Green Lane

The application by Sky Properties, to build an incinerator and re-cycle centre on Green Lane was refused by the Council - Sky Properties have now appealed this refusal with the Home Secretary and it will be heard in May 2012. The Say No Campaign group have been advised to hire a barrister experienced in planning law to look over their objection report and see if they can strengthen it in anyway or if there are any weaknesses

Dukes Drive Country Park - volunteers needed

Work on the Country Park in the Dukes Drive area of Monton started before christmas and will begin again in 2012. .See dates below.  Hope you can make it. Please wear warm waterproof clothes and footwear and bring your lunch. Jill, Community Ranger for Swinton, Ordsall & the Bridgewater Canal will provide hot drinks. Monton Village Christmas Lights - the show must go on!

Monton Village Community Association tried to bring Christmas onto Monton Road with their Christmas lights event on Saturday 3rd December but had to battle with elements. The rain and wind were horrendous, gazebos had to be tied down, several stalls holders couldn't even set up and everyone involved was cold and wet. BUT, THE SHOW MUST GO ON SO..........

Love Food Hate Waste

As part of the 'Don't Waste Monton' project we delivered a lively love food hate waste session to members of the St. Pauls Mothers Union. We talked about how much food is wasted in our homes, and how we can reduce this. We cooked with food waste and tasted a banana loaf, mint and green veg soup and sunday left-overs fritters.
